Local core network
3.7-3.8 GHz
SIM/eSIM access
up to 99.999% scalable availability

Production facilities are becoming more mobile, processes are increasingly automated, and more devices than ever need to communicate reliably. At the same time, demands for availability, security, and controllable network quality are rising.
With 5G-mLAN®, you get a locally operated, standalone mobile network specifically designed for your site, your applications, and your security requirements.
AGVs, AMRs, vehicles, handheld scanners, and mobile workstations require a stable connection, even while in motion.
Sensors, machines, and connected devices need to communicate securely and reliably across the entire factory or campus site.
With 5G-mLAN®, network coverage, capacity, and resources are planned specifically for your own applications, areas, and operational requirements—independent of public mobile network traffic.
The 5G-mLAN® core system is operated locally. Users and devices are authenticated and managed within your own network; access can be controlled via fixed-assignment SIM or eSIM profiles.

Predictable Performance – Exclusively used frequencies provide network quality tailored to your applications, regardless of public mobile network traffic.
Full Data Sovereignty – The core system is operated locally. Data can remain entirely within your own infrastructure.
Local Control – Connections, users, and devices are authenticated and managed directly within your own network.
High Security – Access can be strictly limited to registered 5G CPEs and fixed-assignment SIM or eSIM profiles.
Scalability – The number of devices, network coverage, and security mechanisms can be adapted to meet growing requirements.
Open RAN Architecture – Flexible, vendor-independent network design for interoperability and investment protection.
Mobility & Real-Time Applications – Suitable for mobile devices, AGVs/AMRs, industrial image processing, and other time-critical applications.
Integration & Operations – Connectivity for LAN, WAN, internet, and corporate IT; optional monitoring, defined SLAs, and 24/7 support available.
Connect machines, sensors, robotics, and edge computing resources efficiently to support flexible production processes.
Connect automated guided vehicles, AMRs, automated storage systems, and drones with stable communication, even across expansive areas.
Implement push-to-talk, push-to-video, and group communication for production, control rooms, or response teams via a private 5G network.
Highly available, controlled communication for laboratories, medical facilities, and sensitive applications with high data protection requirements.
Flexibly integrate 5G cameras, mobile image transmission, and access control systems into security and operational processes.
Track vehicles, machines, or people indoors and outdoors, and set up temporary 5G networks for construction sites, events, or temporary operational areas.
The project begins with a structural and radio-technical site survey. This involves assessing building structures, technical infrastructure, potential sources of interference, applications, end devices, as well as performance and security requirements.
Based on the site survey, we develop the radio planning, core/RAN architecture, integration concept, and the necessary frequency planning or site-specific frequency applications.
BROADNET handles the installation, integration, and commissioning of the core, radio cells, management, and connection to your existing corporate IT.
Upon request, we can support 5G-mLAN® during ongoing operations with centralized management, monitoring, service, defined SLAs, and 24/7 support.

FAQ
Here you will find answers to the questions most frequently asked by our clients.
What is a 5G campus network?
5G-mLAN® is a locally limited, independent 5G mobile network for a defined company or campus area. The core network, radio coverage, and device access are specifically planned for the site and its applications.
For which companies is a 5G campus network worthwhile?
Campus networks are particularly relevant for companies with mobile, industrial, or business-critical applications, for example in production, logistics, energy, infrastructure, and on large operational sites.
What is the difference between a campus network and public 5G?
A private 5G-mLAN® is operated for a specific site and uses locally assigned frequencies. This means the core, user management, and data flows are under much greater control of the company than with a public mobile network or a network slice.
Is 5G better than Wi-Fi?
Not necessarily. Both technologies have different strengths. 5G is particularly interesting for mobile, industrial, and controllable communication scenarios, while Wi-Fi remains very well-suited for many classic IT and office applications. The right solution depends on the use case.
Which frequencies can be used for 5G campus networks?
In Germany, the 3.7 to 3.8 GHz range is typically used for local 5G campus networks. The Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur) assigns the frequency on a site-specific basis; according to Compart, the allocation is designed for ten years. The specific application process is reviewed on a project-specific basis.
Can existing IT networks be connected?
Yes. A campus network is generally integrated into the existing IT and communication infrastructure. The specific architecture depends on security requirements, applications, locations, and the desired operating model.
Can BROADNET also take over the operation of 5G-mLAN®?
Yes. BROADNET and the Compart IT-Group support planning, implementation, integration, and ongoing operation. The specific service, monitoring, and SLA model is agreed upon on a project-by-project basis.
How does a 5G campus network project begin?
It all starts with the location, applications, and requirements. Based on this, we plan the radio coverage, network architecture, integration, and operating model.
Whether for smart factories, logistics, IoT, mobile communication, video, or tracking: our experts will work with you to determine how 5G-mLAN® can connect your applications securely, with local control and high performance.
